a purpose with a promise dear, let's up and disappear --------hide away from everyone and everything here The dorm room was too cramping for his tastes. It seemed as if no one ever left the room during the day either, which led Xander to become a tad annoyed. He shut the top of his laptop, slid the seventeen inch thing into it's carrying case, slipped into his shoes and left the room. He couldn't stand it anymore. How could all of them just sit there in the dorm without saying a word to one another. All he had heard was the clicks of fingernails on keyboards, and sighs every so often. It was just making him go crazy! So, the shifter leader walked out of the dorm and looked around at the grounds before him. What would be a good place to just have some alone time, yet be in a place where people might actually want to have a conversation?
The library. Good choice.
Xander walked quickly across the grounds, adjusting the strap on his shoulder while fixing the large collar of his jacket. It was a little annoying to have the collar always snagging under the strap, and it always made him feel unbalanced. Looking from left to right every so often, Xander was finding it hard to believe that no one was outside. Okay, it was getting close to night time and mostly everyone would be inside, but still, wasn't there anyone else around? No one wanting to take a walk before the sun went down? He frowned as he pushed the library door open, seeing that it was empty as well. He did wish for some alone time, and he got his wish.
Shoving his hands into the pockets of his jacket, Xander looked for a spot that was in the open. There were desks between the book shelves and out in the main aisle of the library, for those who came to study. Pfft, studying. Xander never studied! He grinned to himself as the thought crossed his mind, finding a table that he deemed suitable. Pulling a chair back, he tossed the laptop case onto the table, freezing as it made a loud bang that seemed to echo throughout the library. Well now...
Taking out his laptop, Xander realized he was no where near a wall outlet and let out an annoyed sigh. He always had to make one mistake didn't he? It didn't matter much, his battery was full and would last for a few hours without being plugged in. Wasn't like he was going to be in this place for too long. Pushing the top open, he logged back in and opened up an internet session, going back to what he had been doing before he had left the dorm. Online games, heck yes. Can someone say Mahjong? inside the sheets, the smoke, the drinks-------------- ------let's use our hands, we don't even have to speak

♥ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, Never let it fade away! Catch a falling star and put in your pocket save it for a rainy day. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ♥ The tiny girl was in bed. Replaying the scene that had passed early in the day. Maestro Belova was scolding her again for a reason. She had been practicing in her new toe shoes—her very first pair. She had been showing off in front of the other girls before he came in and asked who on Earth taught her to dance like that. She stopped immediately and stared down at her feet. “No-No one.” She wanted to leap across the stage like a gazelle and put everyone who saw her in awe of her grace. She would be a sylph on stage and everyone would envy her dancing! As soon as she mastered toe shoes. She stood perfectly still and the Russian immigrant reached out to her.
Maestro had a large hand that was calloused along his palms. Though his fingers were gentle and they were as beautiful as a painter's in Charlotte's eyes. "Come, Nightingale, I must be teaching you to dance correctly." She nodded and smiled more determined to be better. She had always trusted Maestro ever since she was three but she gave into him and she let him take the lead. Since then she regretted nothing. Except for the horrible pain she was feeling. The child was in bed with tears streaming down her face. Her feet pounded in pain, Maestro never ever made her dance so hard before. She whimpered helplessly as she slowly started to sit up and stared down at her feet, they'd been bleeding and Charlotte wondered if maybe she had on her slippers or socks. Reaching down she felt the caked on blood and in horror she shoved the blanket back and examined her feet in the light of her nightlight. She had a pair of red shoes as well.
Every true ballerina had a pair of red shoes. In the ballet as well as the Hans Christian Andersen story told a tale of a young girl who was forced to dance. The dancer was only rescued from the horrible fate when the shoes were removed, in the story the girl's feet are chopped off and she is forced to tell people about her missing feet and warn them of their own red shoes. In the ballet they are simply removed upon a priest in which the young girl dies and the shoes are given to another hapless victim. Every real ballerina had a pair of red shoes they never stopped dancing until some force made them stop. Sometimes, it was due to injury or love.
Someone who truly loved ballet would know that as long as they could dance, relationships would always take second place to it. Sometimes, it was age and the dancer was unable to dance. Other times, the guilt of the shoes were far too heavy for some dancers to carry along their shoulders. It was so great---such a responsibility they were unable to handle they would have to choose between one world or another.
Her arms swayed and she stopped herself. Panting, as she looked at the mirrored wall and swallowed hard. Everyone had left the studio and she was left alone. Rubbing her arms she stared down at her feet and closed her eyes.
She could hear her breath and almost hear the sweat running down her skin. Setting her arms down she sniffed, she really needed a shower quite badly. It would be light out for a couple of hours still, she wiped her nose with her hand and picked up her bag which was set to the front of the room before she decided maybe to go out. Maestro would have been disappointed with her short practice time but he wasn't there to gripe about it. She had to walk from the practice studio back to her dorm and shower off.
She soon smelled of flowery shampoos and butterfly flower body wash. Emerging from her shower she wrapped her towel around her and shook out her dark chocolate hair. She blew dried it, just leaving it straight in the morning she would style it. As she looked around her empty dorm she pouted feeling lonely. The young woman pouted and she decided that she should do something different. The library was a place she didn't frequent very often so why not head there?
She hummed quietly and the girl looked around the large library as her dark eyes widened. Looking around she wondered where to head off to first. Clutching onto her bag she meandered forward quietly. Maybe, she should head to the fantasy section. Miss Sheng walked but stopped when she saw a familiar figure. Smiling, she moved quietly behind Xander and swiftly wrapped her arms around him. "Whatcha doin? Looking at porn?" she teased him.

a purpose with a promise dear, let's up and disappear --------hide away from everyone and everything here Ten pairs left...he was almost done.
He just had to pick the board he hadn't completed yet. The tip of his tongue stuck out of the corner of his mouth as he stared at the laptop screen, concentration was the key now. He would finish this game with a good time, and be done with it. Then, he might just move on to the next hardest board. The issue now was that there were two pairs of the same tile, except if he made the wrong move, he'd lose his chance to get those two out of the way without screwing himself over. At the moment, he was just trying to figure out how he was going to do that. That tile would work...but then it would make the other pair unreachable. He let out a soft sigh and made up his mind. This would work, he'd win in just two minutes after this move.
And then...
Arms wrapped around him just as he was clicking, making his arm squeeze against his side, the mouse moving so that he clicked the wrong tile. The moment he did that, all the pairs he had left were reduced to zero. His jaw dropped and he would've swung around to hit whomever had just hugged him, but a female voice appeared in his head. Oh no, can't hit the lovely girls Xander, they might hate you for that. Instead of swinging around as he intended on doing, he took a deep breath to calm down. "Whatcha doin? Looking at porn?" the female said. Letting out a soft laugh, Xander turned as best he could with Charlotte's arms around him to stare at her.
"You wish I was, maybe it'd give us some inspiration to cure us of the boredom that's settled on this place today," he replied, giving her a sly smirk. Ah, Charlotte. The beauty that always seemed to find him whenever he found a new girl to flirt with. The girl who brought him joy, and then ruined his chances all at the same time. How he loved her, the little bugger. He was curious as to why she had wiggled her way into the library, but a lovely scent washed over him. She was clean, and recently too. She must've been dancing earlier or why else would she have this flowery scent to her? Why else would someone take a shower right before the night came around if they hadn't been doing some rigorous activity?
To add emphasis to his thoughts, not that she could hear them, he pushed his face into her neck taking a long sniff. God, he loved having such good senses. Grinning, he pulled his head away. "You're using the body wash that smells amazing again! I think you've made my day Miss. Charlotte," Xander teased. He hadn't tried to pry himself out of her arms, there was no need. He liked her arms around him, since she always seemed to do that whenever they were with each other. But, it was getting a tad hot. Body heat from the both of them plus his heavy jacket meant the room suddenly went up in a few degrees. So, good bye lovely arms...at least until the jacket was off.
Grabbing her hands gently, Xander unwrapped himself and took his jacket off, placing it next to his laptop and exposing his dark t-shirt. "Haven't seen you at all today, I was about to get worried. Where have you been?"" he asked, twirling around so that he was now facing her. inside the sheets, the smoke, the drinks-------------- ------let's use our hands, we don't even have to speak

♥ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, Never let it fade away! Catch a falling star and put in your pocket save it for a rainy day. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ♥ Being a girl was good. There were all kinds of perks to it! Girls could wear dresses without scrutiny, smell nice, wear make-up, be princesses, and just do all sorts of wonderful and fun things even though it did get hard sometimes. It was tough to be a girl but way fun. Besides, being a girl meant that she couldn’t get hit by a gentleman. Xander could be quite the gentleman and she “nnned” quietly into him as she leaned forward and placed her chin on his shoulder. Staring at the screen with her almond shaped eyes she frowned.
Miss Charlotte pouted as she mumbled, “I’m sorry….” Rubbing her cheek up against him like a kitten would when wanting attention she pressed against his back and she questioned him almost shyly, “Are you mad at me? I didn’t mean to mess it up. Does that make me bad?” she knew the answer to that—Charlotte hardly ever asked a question without knowing the answer to it.
He said that and she huffed indignantly. “Fresh!” What a lewd thing to say to her. She did her best to not get offended by that but it was a funny thing to say. She bit back a giggle so instead she kept quiet and played coy. Charlotte was happy to not be alone anymore. Alone was probably Charlotte’s least favorite thing to be. She could handle being angry. She could handle being upset and crying. Those two things were far easier to cope with being alone. Because after a while the anger would subside and she would start to feel far better perhaps even happier. When she was sad, she could usually find something to make her happy again. Perhaps, she’d listen to a song or color but she would get out of the depressed feeling very quickly. Though, one could never be certain how long they could and would be alone for. Miss Sheng was grateful for the company.
Being around Xander made her feel pretty. She fed off his feelings and loved every second she was around him. Except for when they were around other girls. He smelled her and she blinked a few times unsure on how to react to that. He was a shifter so she supposed that she should have seen it coming but it was all right. He hadn’t done anything really out of place just smelled her. “Oh I have?” she grinned and wanted to say something more though his movements stopped her.
Charlotte blinked as he grabbed her hands. She called them paws out loud even when he was in his human form since his hands were bigger than her own. Gentle hands clutched around his fingers as she straightened herself out and stood tall. Looking down at him for once the little beauty rubbed her thumbs along his hands and hummed quietly. Listening to his questioning she swished her hips from side to side as she rocked. “Dancing,” was her only reply. She left it at that as though she were telling a story. She questioned, “Have you ever heard of Coppelia before?” the question seemed irrelevant.“It’s about this girl and she’s in love with this boy. And like he’s in love with an inventor’s daughter he never spoke to but he sees her everyday in the window of the inventor’s house. So the girl gets jealous and finds out that the daughter is actually a doll and that her love interest is in love with just a hunk of porcelain and pretty clothes.”
Charlotte always seemed very happy when she spoke about ballet. Looking far off that smile of hers faltered for a moment. “Before I left,” was shipped off. “I got the lead role. So when I come back I want to show my teacher that I remembered all the steps.” She didn’t know if she’d ever be able to go back home. She wanted to take a seat on the table but didn’t want to crush his laptop. “I wanna show him that I’ve really improved.” Slinking forward she took a rather bold movement and decided to take a seat on his knee. Her ankles crossed as she brought his hand up towards her mouth and she placed a tiny kiss along his knuckles.

a purpose with a promise dear, let's up and disappear --------hide away from everyone and everything here This was another thing he liked about Charlotte. She was physical. If she knew it or not, Xander didn't know, but he wasn't going to be the one to complain about it. Hell, who would complain if a cute girl started to just push herself up on you? If you did, well...what the hell was wrong with you!? He could hardly keep his smile from fading, even if she did make him lose his game. "Don't worry about it, I'll play again later and win it," he started, unable to keep his eyes from her. "Nah, you're not bad. There are worse out there, you know." Xander had met a bunch of girls since he had decended upon this place, Charlotte was just one of the more "innocent" ones. At least, so far she was. By the rate she was going, Xander would be all to ready to put her in the "bad" category. Wait, scratch that, he'd put her in the "naughty" one instead.
The thought amused him, and he couldn't help but laugh as she called his earlier comment "fresh". What? Couldn't take a pervertive joke? Now that he was facing her, he could actually take a good long look at her as he usually did. Nowadays, he tended to stare at people a lot more than usual. It was because of the blindness in his left eye coming back. He had no reason why he was suddenly going blind in it, but he was going to try and remember everyone in full detail before he did. Who knows, maybe the blindness will eventually move into his right eye too. What would be the point of trying to remember the fuzzy details then?
Charlotte was dressed up in a cute manner again. She always seemed to have a cute aura to her no matter what she wore. He was most defintitely liking the low cut of her top though. Too bad her voice interuppted his thoughts before he was able to think anything else, and he pulled himself back to reality. "Dancing," she told him, before going off into an explanation about a ballet called Coppelia. Of course he hadn't heard of Coppelia before, he wasn't into high class things like ballet, art, or opera. There was really no point for him to enjoy that kind of stuff, especially if he was going to be here for however long he planned on staying.
Now that he thought of it, he could leave at any time he wanted to. His kind easily blended into the human race, and only slight differences could set him apart. But, he felt safe here. There was no point in leaving a safe haven. Hell, he had some power here too, but he wasn't like most leaders and used that to his advantage. He liked having good relations with everyone and intended to keep it that way until he left.
Xander hadn't really noticed Charlotte rubbing her thumbs against his hands, but when he finally did she had already climbed onto his lap, placing her lips against his knuckles. Oh, what was she up to now? He couldn't help but adjust a bit to make not only himself more comfortable but her as well. "It sounds like a very interesting story. One that I might actually like to see, especially if you're the lead," he said. He wondered about how good Charlotte was. Oh, he didn't doubt that she hadn't the talent for ballet, he could cleary see that. It was in the way she walked, the way she presented herself that gave her away. He kind of liked how fluid she looked as she walked towards or past him on the campus.
Almost like a swan taking a leap into the air, it's wings out stretched...

Catch a falling star and put in your pocket save it for a rainy day. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ♥ Charlotte knew she was quite physical but she was because she liked it. What was the point of being around someone if they didn’t like being touched. Everyone craved for physical contact in some way or another. People who hated to be touched she couldn’t quite understand. She loved being touched and vice versa and Xander seemed to as well. “Okay,” she chirped cheerfully feeling a bit better about that.
She was a competitive person and hated to loose when it came to anything. If she were him she would have been angry but Xander was almost better in her some ways. Almost. A wide grin was across her face and she nodded. There were bad girls not like her in the school but she wasn’t really one of them. Xander seemed to know that too and she liked that.
The empath didn’t think that his comment was particularly lewd but it was almost as much fun to tease Xander as it was to flirt with him. She was under his eyes and she resisted the urge to do a little twirl since he was watching her like that. He seemed to be looking at her far more often than he did but she didn’t question it.
Mainly because he looked at other people for almost as long as he had been watching her. His feelings gave her nothing to go off of and she was left to ponder about why he had been staring. Though that was another thing she liked about Xander. She could talk and he would listen to her.
He smelled different. Not that he smelled bad or anything but he smelled different from some of the other boys in campus. There was a definite feral nature to Xander. At times it was almost primal and she found that she rather liked it. She’d be sad when she left if it meant leaving him too. Many times she wondered if she would leave school or stay like he did.
There wasn’t much waiting for her back in Vermont. Her dad thought that her powers were scary and he didn’t want to talk to her anymore. He was far too busy with Frisk who was probably going to win a Nobel prize for something. She missed Mama though. She especially missed Belova. Though did any of them miss her? If she did go back home would she be welcomed back with open arms or shunned? She couldn’t be certain and she felt bad for thinking poorly of them. Of course they would accept her. The ones that really cared like Mama, Frisk, and Belova. They didn’t really care that she was different.
He adjusted himself and she kept her spot. The Chinese American kept his hand close to her mouth and her eyes downcast. Her bangs covering up her forehead and the tops of her eyes as she closed them for a moment. He stated he’d want to see it if she was the lead and she felt pride well up in her chest. Did she belong here? Should she leave when she graduated?
Upon hearing his query she broke from her thoughts and glanced up at him. Curling her bottom lip up she bit down on it softly and shrugged. “No.” She couldn’t remember why she had decided to go to the library. There were far more interesting places. Shrugging she girl looked around and stated, “I didn’t know where else to go tonight.” [/blockquote] ♥ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For love may come and tap you on shoulder some starless night!
