HOMETOWN; Savannah, Georgia
PARENTS; Michelle Mason, 42, children‘s book illustrator. Barry Mason, 50, owns and operates Mason building components
SIBLINGS; Cassidy, 24, half sister.
OTHER FAMILY; Brody, 11 months, nephew.
HISTORY; Michelle Greene was a small town girl from southern California who became a teenage statistic who got knocked up by her high school boyfriend. At 17 she gave birth to her daughter Cassidy and moved in with the little girl’s father. Things went downhill from there because three years later she left the man; he loved alcohol more than either of them. Michelle wanted a fresh start with her little girl so she moved halfway across the country to Georgia simply because it was the first state that caught her eye on a map. A little more than a year after her move she met a sweet older man named Barry who was like the other half of her soul. It was pretty much love at first sight and the pair got married within months of their first meeting.
As much as Barry cared for his new stepdaughter he wanted a child of his own so after a lot of trying and one miscarriage, Ozzy was brought into the world. Barry, a successful businessman, doted on his young son with gifts and praise his stepdaughter did not receive. His blatant favoritism for his blood child and the age gap drove a wedge between the siblings early on and to this day he isn’t particularly close with Cassidy. Another thing which sets the siblings apart is Oz’s powers. They thought Ozzy was a particularly hardy child but as it turned out he could get hurt, it just healed very quickly. He broke his arm once when he was 6 years old and his sister pushed him out of a tree. By the time his parents got him to the hospital the break was nearly healed.
Barry was pleased that his son was special because he was also gifted and now that his parents knew that he took after his father, they finally noticed Oz’s affinity for electricity. Whenever he had a tantrum anything electrical would short out so the ‘faulty wiring’ in their house was finally explained by their gifted son. He also had a tendency to inadvertently shock people who touched him but over the years Ozzy learned to control this power - so if he shocks you now, it‘s on purpose. As he got older he became rather fascinated by his ability to regenerate and began hurting himself on purpose just to see what kind of damage he could heal. At this point he wonders if death is even possible for him. Maybe one day he’ll try decapitation and see if he can grow a head back.
As tension mounted between the supernatural world and the human one, the normal people began to rebel to the point of violence in some cases. His parents believed it would be better for their son to be somewhere safe so he was sent to Brookland Academy to be with others like himself. Ozzy likes the school for the most part even though people tend to think he’s a little odd and morbid before they get to know him.

RPING SAMPLE;Remy Lévesque was not a dog person. Not one bit. He thought them drooling, idiotic beasts that lacked the elegance and mystery of felines. So the fact that he had a squirming puppy in his lap right now was a sign that he truly loved Mara. She’d been so upset with him when he’d told her what he did to whatever-its-name-was when the stupid mutt chewed up his Ed Hardy boots. It’d only gotten worse when he’d crabbily pointed out that it was alright for her to eat one of the dogs when she was feeling peckish but he was a brute for tossing it down a trash chute? Needless to say he’d earned himself a night on the couch. After that she claimed to be over it but he knew her well enough to know when she was moping, even just the slightest bit.
So the new puppy was a peace offering. He’d never understand her fascination with Maltese but he cared about her happiness enough to indulge it. Resisting the urge to crush, he carefully plucked the enthusiastic animal out of his lap and deposited it in the backseat so he could at least focus on driving. Eventually the thing made its way back to him as if it considered him a friend for rescuing it from the animal shelter. Proof positive that the dog lacked intelligence. Still, he tolerated its presence since that was actually easier than trying to bat it away. Thankfully he was home in another few minutes, pulling deep into the underground parking lot of their building. Remy stuffed the keys in his pocket, grabbed the mop of fluff and headed for the elevator.
When he reached the penthouse apartment he saw that Mara wasn’t home yet. After nearly a century together they weren’t the sort of couple to keep tabs on the other’s whereabouts. Sometimes they’d both get so busy they wouldn’t see each other for days. But just to be sure he wouldn’t be stuck with the puppy for long he sent a text to find out when she’d be getting back. Her response was a half hour and a playful query about him missing her which made him smile. Remy sent back ‘Always. See you soon.’ and went to find some candles. If there was one thing Mara liked it was a nice presentation; she was all about putting on a show.
The apartment was bedecked with candles, music poured from the iPod docked in the stereo system, and a bottle of bloodwine sat on the table so he went to hunt down the puppy to tie a bow around its neck. Remy was sitting on the living room floor cursing in French and trying to keep the stupid dog from chewing on said bow when Mara walked in. It wasn’t exactly the picture of romance he’d had in mind but he shrugged that off and held out the wriggling Maltese. “To replace the other one,” he said simply. There was no guarantee he wouldn’t kill this one too if it gave him a reason but Remy didn’t bother mentioning that.
